Online bookmarking can be used to retrieve, search and organise our favourite links on the web with the use of micro meta-data, commonly referred to as social tags. Online bookmarking is web based technology. This means we are able to access our favourite bookmarks from any machine, as long as there is an Internet connection.

There are different bookmarking services which can be used for free, and which already have a substantial number of subscribers, making it easier to find resources and networks of people who are interested in similar topics and areas of knowledge.
